Founder's Story
Mavhuthu Musetsho, MBA, GTP(SA)™
Mavhuthu Musetsho is the Founder of Vhathu Advisory & Consulting, a professional advisory firm focused on delivering high-quality tax, accounting, and business advisory services grounded in precision, integrity, and strategic insight.
He is a tax professional with extensive experience in tax advisory, compliance, and financial reporting, having worked across corporate tax environments where he supported businesses, trusts, and individuals in navigating complex regulatory frameworks. His experience includes preparing tax opinions, managing tax compliance obligations, assisting with tax dispute resolutions, and advising clients on effective tax planning strategies.
Mavhuthu holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Istanbul Sabahattin Zaim University, an Honours degree in Accounting, and a Bcom degree in Accounting from the University of Johannesburg. He is also a General Tax Practitioner GTP(SA)™, registered with the South African Institute of Taxation (SAIT) and the South African Revenue Service (SARS).
His professional interests extend into tax technology, international tax research, and financial innovation, where he explores how emerging technologies can transform tax compliance systems and improve service delivery in the advisory profession.
Beyond his professional practice, Mavhuthu has received national and international recognition for his contributions to leadership and policy engagement. He was named among the Mail & Guardian 200 Young South Africans (2022) and selected as a Y20 South Africa 2025 Member and G20 Social Summit Delegate, where he contributes to discussions on digital innovation, economic transformation, and the future of work.
